Zinc fell by six percent as markets shrugged off news about the closure of Tech Comnico’s mine. Simon Toyne, an analyst at Numis Securities, was quoted as saying: It is helpful to the zinc market but it does suggest they (Teck) don’t think the weakness in zinc is a transient issue.
